Hi Mr. Daugherty, it is a real pleasure to listen to your music. I work for Matt and Allen Wyatt at Wyatt Violin Shop in Independence, Mo. Matt is a world class western swing fiddle player as yourself. I'm hopeing by taking lessons from him that maybe I can someday play those great songs that you, Johhny Gimble, Matt, and so many other fine fiddlers have played for many years. I hope I get to meet you someday and shake your hand. God Bless.

Junior,
I recently found an autographed LP of yours, "Fiddlin' Around (Goldust Records LPS-176) at a record store up here in Boise, Idaho. Looks like it was made out to "Patty."
I don't see a CD listing of this one on your site, but I would encourage you to re-release it.
What a gem of a recording - thank you for your talent and for keeping folk music alive!

Hi there,
Lisa is still fiddling. In fact she will be sending you some money for some CDs.
She is teaching fiddle, mandolin and guitar in Idaho Falls. Would be so good to see you again. Have not heard who is judging the Jackson fiddle contest. Do you ever hear from Shelley and Kelley? Was so pleased to find your website. Lisa says besides Dad, you are her favorite fiddler.

Hi Mr. Daugherty,
I'm Vonnie and Sue Jasper's granddaughter and in the early 90's I met you at the Lea Co Fiddle Contest. You overheard me playing Ashokans Farewell and you asked me to play it with you. I was so honored then and even though over the years I have played fiddle less and less, yesterday I entered the Wildlife West Bluegrass Music Festival Fiddle COntest and took 3rd place! I played Redwing and Ashokan's Farewell. I am not as polished and refined as I once was but playing yesterday made me fell so good again! Someday soon I hope to meet up with you again so we can play Ashokan's Farewell! Until then....Amanda Sue Jasper

Hi~
I don't know if you remember Debbie Gran, but I'm her daughter. She said that you guys jammed for awhile back in the day. I just started playing guitar a couple of months ago and my mom taught me a song she said that you wrote, called Little Bit. I love it! I was wondering if there was a story behind it.

Hi Junior,
I think you are a relative of mine. My grandfather was Almer Daugherty. I always called him Popo. My Mother was Ethelene Daugherty. After my divorce, I took my grandparents name as they were so very dear to me. When Nanny, Maxine became ill many years ago with pancreatic cancer, I had them both move to Washington State where I have lived for many years. Nanny died shortly thereafter, and Popo lived another 13 years. I still have two of his fiddles. I took lessons when I was a child but never really learned to play well.
I hope your children carry on the family tradition. I miss Nanny and Popo so very much, and I think about them often.
Hope you are the right Junior.
Sally

I was showing my kids their fascinating family tree. That's when I decided to google your name, and there was your website! So I had to say "hello" from here in Wisconsin! Besides being a fan since I was a kid, I'm the daughter of Annie (McCracken) Ison, who I'm pretty sure is your cousin. Also, the late Ocie Stirman was my grandpa, who as you probably know was also a fiddler. He played every single day, and many contests and dances. My mom had some of your records and I used to practice along. I'll definitely be back soon to pick up some CD's and finally hear that beloved music again.
Regards,
Rhonda

Just recieved 4 of your cds for christmas. They're wonderful. I've enjoyed your music for many years. I grew up listening to "Just Waltzin" & "Just Fiddlin" on Mom & Dad's record player. It's been several years since I got to dance to your music at the old Weed School - it's a fond memory. I know you play at the Weed cafe now and then. I would love to know if you ever decide to play anywhere else.
Happy New Year

Hi Mr. Daugherty,
I met you on a flight from Albuquerque NM on 6/22/07. You were sitting next to me on the plane and on your way to New York for a convention. I just wanted you to know that I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and hopefully will be able to see you perform if/when you come to South Carolina. I was going to email you to your personal email, but I think I have one of the characters wrong. Anyway, I hope you are doing well and I hope to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Pandora Baldree
P. S. My grandson is now 4 months old and is a precious child. Just wish I could visit more often.

I have had 5 of your LP's for years and finally baught a recorder to put them on CD's, thinking I would never be able to buy CD's. Wondering where you were I decided to post on NM RootsWeb Tues. night and had a reply Wed. morning with your site.
I have treasured these albums and been scared to death that something would happen to ruin them, they are truely my favorite's.
I'm so glad you didn't fall off the earth,
just been around it a few times.
Where in the heck is Pinon, NM?
Do you think you will be in the Gallup area in the near future?
I love fiddle music and you are my favorite player. God Bless
Will be ordering your newer CD's soon.

I produce a fiddling radio show here in Santa Rosa, and would love to do an interview, even by telephone. Drop me a line.

Junior:
My husband and I attended the fiddlers contest in Globe, AZ a few years back and I was honored to meet you. we are now listening to you on the 33 1/3 records we got then, just fiddlin' and fiddlin' around. You autographed both Album covers then. We are just listening to the albums and the music has brought back a lot of fond memories. We now live in Mesa, AZ would like to know when you are going to be down this way.
Best regards,

My Dad, who passed when I was 16 in 1997, absolutely loved your music and had all your records. I now have 2 of his(just waltzin' and just fiddlin') and love them too. When I was about 10, my Dad had made a copy of the waltzin' record on a tape and taught me how to waltz out in the grass barefoot on the 4th of July in the park in Georgetown, TX. That was the only time we ever danced together but I will never forget it. I now have a 5yr old son who is autistic and is dancing to your record as I type. I guess loving your music runs in the family. My husband is hearing it for the first time and wanted to know if you had cds so this is how I found your website. We will definately be ordering all of them very soon. God Bless you Mr. Daugherty for your beautiful music and giving me the best childhood memory a gal could have. Thank you for sharing your beautiful fiddlin' with us.
